At that time, the artist had already painted works: the triptych ‘Sunflowers’ and the triptych ‘Sunflowers in Contrast’. But these sunflowers are different. They were an exact copy of the sunflowers at her home land.
 
Marta had a favorite place outside the city where she used to swim in the lake. And on the way to this lake, she always passed a field of sunflowers. Therefore, they are the exact personification of her native land where the artist spent part of her life.
