About art work
Triptych "Sunflowers"
One of the artist's most mysterious works. Many people compare the author to Van Gogh. But the purpose of this work is quite different.
One day in 2013, a very close friend of Marta's bought herself an apartment. The artist was so happy for her friend that she decided to give her a painting with flowers, and decided that it would be sunflowers. A flower that symbolizes the energy of the sun, prosperity, and positive energy. It's exactly what you need for your brand-new home. There was no time to create a painting on canvas, as the oil will bend for about a year, so the artist wrote it on watercolor paper. She promised herself that she would paint this on canvas in the future. After some time, the artist took the largest canvas that she had and made a sketch. Looking at it, she took two more canvases and placed them on the sides. “Many, very much I wanted sunflowers, so that I could open my soul”
The sunflowers in this painting were not painted from nature, they are from the artist's personal imagination. A wide range of yellow shades was used. In addition, by experimenting with sunflower hats, the dot technique was used for the first time. This was done to create the effect of the authentic naturalness of the flower itself.
All three canvases were painted in layers, and each layer was applied to the canvases simultaneously. After about a year, when the works dried up, they were varnished and sent to Vinnitsa for the Interregional Exhibition. There, a selection was made by an independent committee, which was approved.
For the artist, this was the first small victory, the recognition of her work by professional artists.
The artist was traveling through China at that time; when she returned, in the middle of 2015, in the morning after leaving the shower field, she found drops on a large canvas. Frightened that it was she who, waving her wet hair, may have smeared the work with water, she began to wipe these drops. However, it wasn't water - when touching the drops, they appeared to be wood resin or glue, translucent amber in color. “Everything is a failure, a catastrophe,” the artist thought. What's wrong? -maybe she made a mistake when mixing paints, the artist thought. But after examining the other two side canvases, they were clean and clear. Afterward, she called her advisor on art materials, the restorer, and explained the situation - and after a few minutes it became obvious that technically the work had been written correctly, it had been varnished after complete drying, and such a situation could not exist. And he answered her - “you know, this is probably just a sign from God that you should expose her more and more, otherwise there is no other explanation”
The drops formed exactly on the day the artist returned home, and then several more appeared. The mysterious sign simply warmed the artist's soul. And she understood that her works were not just created for that, but for something higher.
In 2017, when the artist arrived in Miami, she decided to transport some of her oil paintings from Ukraine and exhibit them in Miami. And this work was also included in the composition.
She was exhibited at Miami Trade Expo 2018 and Miami Art Basel 2018.
This work is in full view of the artist at home today. She loves looking at it. The drops dried up, but from time to time the flower petals themselves became wet and dry. There is no explanation for this...
“I really like looking at them. They give me a feeling of fullness, a feeling that a part of my home is always with me,” says the artist.
